Ocotillo Lodge was architect William Krisel's first work completed here in the desert and since 1957 this magical place has been welcoming visitors and residents alike. Known as the Dinah Shore Suite, this larger floor plan rarely comes on the market and this particular unit is restored to the look of the original. At Ocotillo Lodge, Krisel created an exercise in contrast with thick architectural block walls balanced on the opposite side by light panes of glass which connected the indoor space with the outdoor space making both a cohesive whole. No wonder these homes feel so much larger. The bedroom is partially separated from the living room by an obscure-glass panel, which preserves an unbroken wall of glass out to the oversize patio. In the bathroom, the architect thoughtfully provided skylights above the sinks so that every part of the home is a bathed in natural light.
